Whatever our intentions,
The world will continue
To crash against our shores
And challenge our defenses.
Our strength lies, not in resistance,
But in a softening of edges,
A willingness to learn, balanced
With an ever-deepening understanding
Of the serene and wise consciousness
That lies at the root of our being.
