We had a surprise visit
From a coyote yesterday evening
(So glad we have indoor cats!)
It’s hard, knowing what we know,
Not to see them as evil, predators,
Destroying what we love
To feed their voracious appetites,
And yet —
How much of our distaste is preconceived;
How much of their behavior
Has been triggered by our own?
