A passing cargo ship
Dwarfs our beloved lighthouse,
Much as our current administration’s
Obsession with economic gain
Dwarfs its concern for the safety
And protection of those
Who are barely afloat,
Threatened and weathering storms.
But how have we, in our complacency,
Our own obsession with growth and acquisition
Contributed to this current imbalance?
