Seeing this, the phrase came to mind,
“Everything that rises must converge,”
Which apparently originated
With Teilhard de Chardin,
(Though it was probably made more famous
By Flannery O’Connor),
And while I truly cherish the thought
Of ascending into Oneness,
I also know, as an artist,
I’ve always struggled with perspective.
How is it that I can comprehend this
So clearly on a spiritual level,
While finding it incomprehensible
When trying to draw or paint?
