No green thumb

Before my girls were born,
I had a green thumb:
House plants and gardens
Thrived under my care,
But after giving birth I lost that touch,
And years later it still seems to be beyond me,
And so I’m doubly grateful
To the gardeners of the world,
Who share their gift for beauty
With the rest of us:
Our eyes and souls are fed
By their hard work and vision.
