Simple pleasures

The simple pleasures 

 Of a morning nearing spring —

 A bird, even if it’s a crow,

 A birdbath filled by the evening rain, 

A lawn beginning to lengthen again, 

And the daffodils raising their happy heads, 

Watching for the sun.
