It’s so quintessentially human of us,
To avoid, or wish to work around
The dark textures of life;
The obstacles and challenges,
The weedy undergrowth of dailiness…
We keep forgetting they provide
A necessary scaffolding
For beauty, for appreciation,
For gratitude and growth.
