Walking by this field full of cows,
I’m amused to see that the only one
Who’s looking back at me
Is the only calf: perhaps, like so many humans,
Cows lose their curiosity as they age,
And tend to focus on satisfying
Whatever needs they have in the moment
Rather than learning more about the world
Beyond the narrow confines of their lives…
How can we work to achieve a balance
Between contentment and curiosity?
