Having struggled all afternoon
With a painting that just wouldn’t come together,
I came downstairs , defeated,
And then, looking out the window, realized
The sunset was offering to show me
All I need to know about color and contrast.
What a gift it is, when we pay attention
To what nature longs to teach us!
