We don’t really want to hear:
Like this one, taken just this morning,
Of my husband’s desk
Beneath our brand new roof…
(And yes, of COURSE there were
Papers that got wet!)
At times like this I’m grateful
Our response is never anger,
Just a question: what do we need to do
To solve this problem?
Luckily, in a small town,
The roofers are your friends,
And we all understand:
Old houses have their quirks!
