On gray days, when a wall —
Grief, anger, or betrayal — might seem
To indicate the end of the world,
The challenge is to keep on moving toward it.
Get close enough to see it’s just another edge;
Another opportunity to surmount
The obstacles placed in our path
That guide us forth to new, unexpected futures.
