Disappointment is a dark and dangerous barn,

full of unmet expectations and resentment;

safe only for brief visits.

If you must step in, don't linger.
Be wary of sharp implements,

stay close to doors and windows, 
though your face be turned away,

and while you're there, remember

how soft the grass outside the walls 

once felt on your bare feet.
