But the decorations still remain;
Reminders of anticipation felt,
Of hopes dashed and seasons past
And present joys that lift our hearts;
Lights that still brighten dreary days
And help to make more bearable
What cold and emptiness remains
Ere winter turns to spring again.
Don’t rush to take them down:
Instead rejoice, delight; let the season’s pleasures
Linger in your heart a little longer…
