Whatever masks we wear to protect ourselves
Must eventually be stripped away,
Only to reveal the wounds beneath.
Now, in this blessed time of silence and solitude,
We no longer can ignore
The heartbreak that divides us.
What steps will we take today to heal
These ancient lacerations?
