Awaiting the birth of peace

Here we stand with Mary, 

Trapped in what feels like 

An unprecedented poverty 

 Of kindness and civility,

Desperately awaiting the birth of peace. 

May it be born into the world this night, 

And comfort come to all who are oppressed.
