Moment vs memory

The waves leap forth repeatedly 

 To cover their own reflections in the sand, 

Creating, hiding, and redeeming 

 In the act of being themselves; 

Artistes who paint, then cover 

And paint again the same canvas, 

For whom the moment matters more than memory.
