Trust

It seems to me — a non-gardener — 

That gardening, like careers and relationships, 

Is a mix of vision, hard work, and trust: 

It helps to know what you’re working towards, 

And of course you need to work at it, 

(Plus it helps to enjoy the labor) 

But it’s also critical to believe it’s possible: 

To trust in your own ability to succeed, 

And to trust that circumstances 

 Will tend to work in your favor: 

It’s trust that allows you to adjust and adapt 

Even in the face of serious setbacks. 

And when you lose trust — what then?
