We live these relatively peaceful lives
Haunted by the shadows of war.
Though much is hidden, the stark reality
Keeps peeking through the clouds
Of our resistance, and we wonder:
How can we protect those under attack
Without endangering the world,
Now that we understand
The option to duck and cover
Is only an illusion…
