Wake up and celebrate

And so it begins again: another year, 

Another opportunity to learn and grow; 

To set aside old habits and build new ones; 

To tackle all the tasks we’ve left undone; 

To pontificate less and listen more 

 And find a way to reach across the gap 

That separates us from that we’re meant to love. 

But first — wake up! And celebrate! 

 And breathe a prayer of gratitude 

 That we’re still here, and still have the chance 

To become and do 

 Who and what we’re born for: 

 To achieve and fulfill our destiny.
