If you wish to be seen, heard, and respected,
you must be willing to be unseen, unheard, and disrespected,
or your thought processes will be so dominated
by the fear of what people will think
and by your efforts to garner approval
that the truth you bring into the world,
your truth, the truth that needs to be heard,
will lie ever dormant beneath your mask.
