Catherine's light

I painted this one yesterday, and was a little surprised 

by the quality of the light at its center.  

Now, today, having learned of the sudden death 

of my dear friend and mentor, Catherine, 

I find myself hoping that this somehow echoes 

the quality of the light that welcomed her home...
