One might conclude that this photograph
Was taken somewhere in Europe,
But in fact I shot it through my windshield
On my way to the hardware store.
I confess, like many of us, I am wary
Of folks who build monumental edifices
Instead of more charitable expenditures,
But at the same time, there’s no denying
The pleasure such creations bring —
A gentle reminder that there are many ways
To contribute to the uplifting of a community.
