The challenge of aloneness

And now, after a brief respite from aloneness, 

We must step back into our solitude 

To save our lives and the lives of those we love, 

Reducing the celebration of gratitude 

To its simplest common denominator: 

To be grateful for continuing existence, 

When that existence can't be shared...
