The tide will rise again

However disheartened we may be,

By the confusion, misinformation, and division,

We have to trust that the tide will rise again

And sweep it all away;

That trust and honesty will once again prevail.

The long road ahead

The road ahead is long, our hope has dimmed,

The destination now obscured by fog,

And still we trust the silence and the path 

To lead us to the light for which we hunger.

Hold up the light

Some days you just gotta sit there

And take it all in. 

The arc of history bends where it will;

Our job is to keep finding the light

And holding it up so others may find

Their way through the dark...

Look before leaping

When standing this close to the edge,

It’s important to stay very conscious

Of the ground beneath your feet.

However enchanted you may be

By your view of the distant future,

You’ll want to be sure that your next step

Is a well-thought-out leap

And not a crippling fall...

All is cherished in light

Rejoice in those days

When the sun comes out and reminds us 

That everyone and everything —

Even the humblest of structures and humans —

Is created, is worthy, is cherished in light.

Seeking balance

Like the tree that reaches out,

Hoping to touch and drink what lies beneath,

We long to find connection 

even as we struggle to remain

Upright and self-sufficient; not dependent:

The struggle that accompanies each relationship—

Even the one we share with the universal Divine.

Just beyond the clouds

Yes, there is a new beginning;

The sun has risen, a new dawn,

Waiting just beyond the clouds.

Relax: the wind will soon

Blow them all away.

Relax, breathe deep, and focus

On the waves of possibility.
